Scheme of work
Computing in the Early years is a great way to begin building the foundations that children need to progress through Computing in the Key Stages. We are aware that Computing is not a requirement in the Foundation Stage but if there is access to the resources in the school and a way to meet the areas of learning in early years, practitioners can provide their children with a head start.
Knowsley City Learning Centre has created a scheme of work that starts from Reception and progresses right through to the end of Key Stage 2. It provides great information for all teachers, providing links to the areas of learning and breaking down which section of the Computing curriculum the lessons cover. It provides lesson plans which can be adapted to meet the individual needs of the children in your class and the resources that are available in your school. There are also links to resources that are accessible online that support each lesson.
The link below is for the scheme of work created in 2014 / 2015 but has been updated in 2016.
