Videos about Internet Safety.
These videos are suitable to usre with children as part of teaching sessions, however you will need to view each video and use professional judegment to decide whether it is suitable for your year group. It is important to remember that these videos may be upsetting to children and will evoke discussion. By knowing your children you will be aware of their personal experiences and emotional tendencies so can use the appropriate resources. Discussion points have been placed alongside the video link, to use with the class. An important consideration for all teachers about E-Safety is to not discriminate gender. Most videos or clips depict young girls and grown men, however it is important for teachers to discuss with children how it is just as likely to be a woman talking to a boy or girl or a man talking to a boy. It is also important to address children's fears as these videos can scare children, so they need to be reminded that the internet is safe as long as we use it safely.

Timon and Pumbaa Online Safety - Discussion Points: This video provides questions asked by Pumbaa. It would be a good idea to pause the video and allow the children to discuss the questions and provide their answers before revealing Timon's answer. An activity to follow this video could be to encourage children to set up an email as a fictional character. This shows the children how easy it is for someone to make a fake account with pictures from the internet. |

This video provides questions for the children - you could stop the video at these points and encourage your children to discuss their answers to the questions, then play the responses of the children in the video. After seeing the video, encourage children to create a poster similar to the one at the top of this page, highlighting what you should or should not do online to keep yourself safe. |
